Video Blurry
#1
Anyone know how to get the video stablized on Android 8.1?  Picture fluctuates between clear and blurry.  I've set the screen size and font size but it's nothing like setting the resolution.

Thanks in advance.

It's because the HDMI output seems to be defaulting to the defined BaseDisplayInfo settings for the "Built-in Screen" which has a resolution of 1024x600. I'm assuming this is the native resolution for the PINE64 7" LCD display that this build mentions in the release notes. I was able to change the resolution by opening an ADB shell and then running the wm size command followed by the desired resolution. In my case it looked like this:

rk3399_mid:/ $ wm size 1920x1080

Obviously you can change the desired resolution to match your display's native resolution and orientation.

Curiously, there is a defined "HDMI Screen" that is set to 1920x1080. I wonder if the interfaces were mixed up and users who connect the 7" display to the DSI/eDP ribbon will be see nothing since their 1024x600 screen will be trying to output 1080p.

Thanks on the explanation. We will release a new build soon that has 1920x1080 UI that works with ROCKPro64 and also Pinebook Pro.

Hello tllim,
Is there any improvement in the 1920x1080 UI?

Is there any progress for a new Android 8.1 image? changing the resolution with wm size 1920x1080 is reulting to instability blur is fading in out on the gui. The System should detect what Monitor is connected and worl acc. even 4k should be possible

I agree, I would like to see a new 8.1 build that can detect and display true 1920 x 1080 through HDMI at the very least, but 2160p would be ideal.

The blurry UI interface cause to 1024x600 upscale to match with LCD panel resolution. On planned next week Android 9 release, the UI interface resolution change to 1920x1080 to match up with Pinebook Pro interface and should improve a lot.
