I'm looking for the switch that tllim posted at this website:
http://sg.element14.com

I'm not electronics trained, so it's kind of hard finding it.
Can anyone advise what keyword I should be searching for?

or this type below. I saw a picture here at the pine 64 forum where someone soldered a similar two pin type to their board

I live in Canada but they can probably all be found at amazon.com or ebay

Can you advice what kind of button to use for us non-savvy users?

I'll want to have the buttons on hand when I receive the board.

That is correct.
I am sorry I can't read Chinese characters. Could we wire the switch around 4 feet away from the board than?
You could probably use a PC ATX on/off switch. You would need to solder the male connector to the board. I have been looking for one but no luck so far. It should work as long as it fits. Maybe the devs can point us in the right direction? Smile

You can plug this cable at the EXT connector for reste and power on functions, please check pin definition on wiki page. When we define the EXT connector pin layout, we have factor in such cable combination.

Hi Tllim,

After I replied to the previous message I found a thread on power through GPIO with a  pdf of the pine 64 pin assignment and I noticed this on page 3 where the ext connector layout is listed.  Based on the information in the pdf it looks like pin 5 is the pwr switch and the cables are two pin so I am assuming that pin 6 is the ground for this connection. I take it the reset switch would also share the same ground?

Thanks
