Edit Reason: add thermal zone @ 4.4

Yup, I have the same frustration starting at 4.18, still there at 4.19 as per my post here.
For most of what I need mainline is cool - the scheduling is an irritation, but I really need to get sound somehow as well. Watching the noises here and on IRC seems sound is pretty close (may well be OK for others, I am still struggling )
PS - at 4.4 thermal zone1 is also gpu - agree strange but seems not the problem (on its own):
Code:
$ cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone1/type
gpu-thermal
$ cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/type
soc-thermal
$ uname -a
