ROCK64 RTC

Yes it did ,,.... with a bit more to be done,

Did a fix broken after and alot was installed .... then ran through the update, upgrade, dist-upgrade ...

Don't want to reboot until that was done, i was afraid that my removing all LibEGL.* might have bad repercussions when rebooting ....

I do not see any update to using a battery for RTC on newest Rock64 which was going to be utilized as an automation server combo firewall.

I have not used the Internet for time in over 15 years now and always used an NTP server with GPS / PPS. Over the years transitioned to using the PFSense box with a serial / PPS connection to a GPS which provides great time for me.

I am very particular about automation and time.

We are at the two year mark here.

Time to give up and move on.

The issue due to the availability of PoE capable magnetic LAN which has very long lead time, 16-20 weeks lead time. We will starts phase in new revision on April.

I am a newbie and have a basic question. I am ordering both Rock64 and Rock64 boards and will be running a webserver on it in an environment without internet connection. Most probably the antenna will create a hotspot for the mobile devices to connect to it.
I will have to turn on and off the system almost every day. Will both the boards lose the date stamp when restarted provided the battery RTC is not there ?
Is there a way to keep the time up to date so that the browser running the webserver home page should not prompt for errors ..
Thank you
