Oh, and it was not necessary to resize anything. Just used "apt update" and "apt upgrade" instead of "apt-get update" and "apt-get dist-upgrade".
i have no need for bluetooth at this point, just something i noticed. I figured 16.04 was the supported version. thanks for the info.
