Patiently awaiting shipping info

So, my pine is shipped by DHL in France. ANd....bad, very bad surprise, I have to pay 43 € for custom duties. I'm totally disappointed.

Well, at least you will have your PB soon. It seems that France has quite high taxes and customs fee. I am waiting for the customs clearing since last Friday and still waiting... thanks to our new electronic only customs system in Slovakia. I think I will pay just the tax, that is 20 percent here.

Same here in Holland. I assumed DHL fees included VAT, but it was just their fee. Had to pay the delivery guy from DHL another forty something euro. But I'm happy to have it this fast. (shipped last week at the other side of the globe, delivered in 4 days, I don't complain.)


PB build quality exceeds expectations. I do own several Raspberry PI's in different models, so I knew more or less what to expect in terms of speed. Keyboard and screen are excellent for typing letters, In near future I will probably go for I bigger eMMC drive, as soon as I have figured out how to install ubuntu mate on it instead of a SD card.

FYI, for those who recently got shipping notifications, I just received an email 2 days ago that my pinebook was being shipped. Since it's coming from Hong Kong, I figured a week or 2 to be normal. It arrived today! The accessories are all there, and so far I think it looks and feels like a very nice machine!

Ordered May 12th, got my shipping notification June 21st, and it got here in the US today.

Looking forward to tooling around with it when I get home.

I think I would have it too, if I didnt want to save some 18€ for the customs process by DHL. I wanted to take the customs myself, that was a big mistake because it is a total mess. Now I am waiting for DHL to do the customs and will gladly pay those 18 or more €.
