Android 6.0 Tablet and TV (release candidate, maintained)
Has anyone gotten the LCD to work on the latest build? I am having a bit of an issue, where the screen inits but then it only displays interlaced vertical lines.

Everything works fine on the official android 6.0.

I have not changed any settings. I use Ethernet, a 16GB sd card, on a full hd tv through HDMI.
I have signed into a google account as well. Play store works, so does Kodi, but youtube does not. Any ideas?

You'll have to update the Youtube app from Google Play
Nobody ever written anything about unrooting the images so I thought I share my own findings. If you're having trouble making some online banking or video services work (in my case it was Showmax video app), the following procedure might help. Tested on ayufans' 6.0 TV most recent image:

1. Run SuperSU.
2. After it asks for installing su binaries select yes and choose normal mode.
3. Reboot (this is done automatically IIRC)
4. Run SuperSU again, go to Settings and choose full unrooting down the bottom of the list.
5. Last and final step: go to Android settings and perform a factory reset (curiously enough you won't loose your apps).

Voila, your Pine64A/A+ is now unrooted.
I am using android-6.0-pine-a64-v1.3.0-r34.img.gz on my pine64.

Did anyone ever try to compile cifs.ko, md4.ko and nls_utf8.ko for this one to be able to mount samba shares?-)

Hi, I am trying to get the LCD to work. After flashing I don't have a partition on the SD card that can be read on windows. I booted it up and let it resized, shut it down and tried the SD card in my windows PC again, and still no boot partition that is accessible. I have 3 partitions that show up and none are accessible. It works over HDMI but no LCD. I get a white screen during bootup then it goes back off. How do I enable the LCD?
I am using android-6.0-pine-a64-v1.2.3-r33.
Okay, so I answered my own question. You have to use Linux to see the partitions. I made the change to uEnv.txt and am up and running.
Hi guys,

I am quite new to this forum and would like to thank everyone for this wonderful exchange of ideas.

I am trying to use Pine64 board as a media center for tv and found Android 6.0 as best os to do that. Just that I could not figure out how to configure wifi adapter (Realtek 8188) to work in android.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Omkar

Download: https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/android-6.0/releases

It takes about 10 minutes for first boot to finish.

Report all issues here: https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/android-6.0/issues

What does work?

It seems to work nicely and be more responsive then 7.0 build.

Widevine DRM L3 does work, so you should be able to use Netflix.

It also allows you to update SuperSU binary, so rooting is OK too.

What does not?

- So far it seems to be OK.

This is alpha build, so do not complain Smile

If something doesn't work:
- try to see logs (adb logcat, adb shell dmesg),
- try to compile and fix it by yourself,
- when you find solution create a Pull Request for one of this repositories: https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/

How to compile?

https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/local_m...arshmallow

You can also see my Jenkins compilation script:
https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/android...enkinsfile

Download:

https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/android-6.0/releases

Install:

The builds are designed to be used with Pine A64 1GB or 2GB on at least 4GB sdcard.

Use Etcher to write images: https://www.etcher.io/

The build automatically resize data partition on first boot to use sdcard space.

LCD:

To enable LCD, edit uEnv.txt from BOOT partition and uncomment:
Code:
pine64_lcd=on

HDMI resolution:

Edit uEnv.txt and select one. You can find all supported in uEnv.txt:

Code:
disp_mode=1080p60

Ethernet speed:

Edit uEnv.txt and select desired speed, by default it uses auto-negotiation.
For example to limit to 100Mbps:

Code:
eth0_speed=100

Google Apps:

Android Regular and TV already has Google Apps installed.

Wow great now also Android 6 on the pine64, this is really nice!! First impression it indeed looks quite smooth!
