Yippee!!! Gearsoul activated his account so now I won't get emails every time he gets a new idea way to go Gearsoul!

It seemed like an interesting project from the emails I was getting. But I unsubscribe to the Kickstarter feed or whatever it is called because my iPad kept giving notification alerts.

Reading the rest of your ideas is intriguing me a little more but I think I will try to convert a older NES or retro console. That way I have room for error and don't have to worry about running out of room before the project is done. (I think I would cry if that happened) I am more of console gamer than a handheld gamer myself.

n__n;;; Ahah, sorry about that! Yeah, turned out it just didn't like my email address. I made a new one, a gmail account, and requested my activation code and got it immediately! 'x3

Yeah, we definitely don't have a lot of room to play with! :0 I think if it wasn't enough space for whatever you had in mind, a console is the next option; there's not any handheld I can think of off the top of my head that's chunkier than the classic Gameboy! :3c

I've been carrying mine around in my pocket(/hand) since the idea came to me. I'm so excited for this~! n__n I'm really looking forward -- both with glee and dread(should it prove too small) -- to watching Skairkroh Bules' progression/development! =3

No problem I enjoyed watching you ideas unfold

My first handheld was my mothers original clunky game boy *digs through multiple drawers* I can't seem to find it anywhere. I probably broke it before I got my GBA original. Wow I'm only 17 and I am starting to feel old thinking about my childhood consoles.

Space wise looking at the Pine64 there isn't much extra space

*You* feel old?! You just told me a handheld I own and played with as a child(though, admittedly it came out *long* before that time; we also had a GBC each(I got mine at 11, shortly after Gen1 Pokemon came out I think?)) is something your *mother* owned! Tongue Haha~

Heh.

I got the original Gameboy when it first came out, so I'm the oldest and ugliest! Big Grin

I do have some reservations about that battery compartment getting in the way...

Btw, it's 'our' (really your, since I didn't think of doing it till you mentioned it) progression/development, and indeed anyone else who wants to join in and help! Smile

:3 Heh~ True enough!

Hm, yes... Well, the issue... Hm... I looked at it again from the other side of the Gameboy and it looks like you could fit a board- in *front* of it. And if the USB ports are gonna be that much of an issue, they really need to be at the back, so they can poke out of the game cartridge slot...

Unless you were willing to cut into the case and make space for them that way?

Case cutting may become necessary, yes...  Sad

In other news, I found these small screens that may be suitable:

http://thepihut.com/collections/raspberry-pi-screens

They are for the Raspberry Pi, but conceivably could be used to run on the Pine, depending on connectors and drivers...(if it turns out the Pine IS too big for the Gameboy case, the other sacrilegious option is to use a Raspberry Pi Zero - that would definitely fit Tongue)

You guys heard of the PiGRRL 2? I know it's based on the raspberry pi model b and not the pine64. Maybe we can build something similar with the Pine.
