For streaming apps, try installing hide my root app from Play Store. That should work with most streaming apps.

also SuperSU has the option to disable SU for thoes pesky apps, which you can re-enable for root stuff later.

But that's what they're saying, they downloaded and burned the non-rooted image but are still having problems with the OS identifying the image as being rooted (or at least rootable). See the first screen-grab in the OPs message - it shows them highlighting the rooted and non-rooted image options, indicating that they specifically chose a non-rooted image.

i am wondering if the problem is that all of our Android images are developer images ?

... I was also able to  su -  to root on the console of my android system ( non root ).  In fact, the latest image I received from tllim for testing ( another issue ) i was also able to su to root on the console.

So, it looks like the images are 'able' to be root-able; which I certainly find interesting.

At this point, the engineers (main developers) are going to have to play with it to come up with a truly non root image.   On a philosophical point,  I'm not sure I would 'want' to run an app that demands that my device not be rooted.  To further push this philosophical point,  ALL devices should be rootable--- its your device , after all !

Mark if you have a Android image (supposed to be non-root) with shell acess, can you check if the 'su' and 'busybox' binaries are in /system/bin ?
