Hi!
My PinePhone Pro does not read the micro SD card at all.
I tried booting from SD card as indicated here: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_Pro#Boot_from_microSD_card_temporarily.
I also tried holding the RE button.
Nothing works and the operating system does not detect any SD card.
The microSD card is inserted all the way...

RE button is not necessary in that case, holding "volume down" at boot is sufficient as it seems that you bought your phone after July 2022. Though the OS not detecting the card is not a good sign, booting from it will not work in that case either.

The card looks inserted correctly and it's a very basic functionality which is expected to work, unless something is broken (card, card reader).

Did you try a different card? This one looks like it already went through a lot of things.

Looks like a defective board then. You might want to check if the microSD card detection pin broke off by looking from the side. Would suggest to open a ticket under https://support.pine64.org.

Thank you!!!
I solved the problem by lifting the pins.
The card reader works now and I can boot from SD.
Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

On a side note, mind that you can also flash the eMMC using Tow-Boot's USB Mass Storage mode (hold volume up at boot).

I have this same problem.  I figured it's a problem with the reader (i.e. the hardware), but haven't fixed it, yet.  Support was no help.
@tux_life  You "lifted the pins"?  How?  What did you do?  This seems as if it maybe a solution for me, too.

In my case it may be that I myself somehow damaged the reader.
Anyway...as suggested by fxc I looked at the pins and noticed some were down. I raised them up a bit with a small screwdriver. My English is very bad, so I hope I was clear.
