Which image runs Kodi & plays You Tube video

Will any of the available OS images allow you to play You Tube video and run Kodi, the Android image runs Kodi but wont play You Tube videos and I'm told the Linux image won't run kodi... Huh

Which board are you using ? I had no issues running youtube and kodi in RemixOS.
Indeed, Linux isn't a good option for media at the moment.
What is your issue with android and youtube ?

I'm using the 2GB board on Android OS, but I re-installed and it's working now, thanks anyway.
