I just reflashed Manjara plasma mobile and then did pacman -Syu
Now I can ssh into the phone but I can't get an unlock screen to appear.
If I reboot the phone sometimes the unlock screen briefly flashes on just before the KDE start logo think.
What should I do?
Same here. I had this problem for a while, and then at some point the screen started coming on again (I don't think I did anything of note to fix it). After another update it's the same; I can ssh but can't get the screen to come on. Every now and then there's a brief, maybe 1/4 second flash and then it's off again.
I can boot into Mobian off the SD card and the screen comes on just fine, so it's not a hardware problem.
Mine also just started working again after some time.
I also noticed that pacman had a database lock file on that I needed to remove. Maybe an update process had frozen the phone or something.
Hmm, no lock file for me and I still can't get the screen to come on. AFAICT the last update went fine.
So one other interesting piece of info here: I plugged into an external monitor and was able to use the phone just fine with a keyboard and mouse. The lock screen showed up, I could unlock it, open apps, etc. The phone screen still behaves the same way though. The occasional quick flash and that's it.

Leaving wifi on and using ssh to adjust the screen brightness works.
Otherwise I'm hoping the rc.local script at boot also works for now.

Yep, that was it. I didn't mess with the startup scripts, but using ssh to edit `/sys/class/backlight/backlight/brightness` and set the value to 950 at least got the screen on.
