Battery replacement alternative
#1
Ordering a battery from the Pinestore is sometimes expensive for the shipment and import taxes.
Looking for an alternative I've ordered the PATONA Battery EB-BJ700CBE 3000mAh on Amazon.
So far seems to last more than the original battery and reaches the 75% as maximum.

I just purchased a Samsung battery on ebay,  it is a perfect physical fit into my Pine phone.
I used the battery spec's from the Pine Wiki in my search.

>> New OEM Battery For Samsung Galaxy J7 SM-J700 J700M J700P J700F EB-BJ700CBE <<

Only difference I see so far is the Samsung is rated at 3000mAh, while the Pine is rated 2800mAh, not much of a difference.

I charged it on the external 'Pine' charger for 4 - 5 hours,  then installed it into my PMOS convergence phone running a recent Mobian Nightly release on sd card.

It showed 100% charge at that time.

Five hours in and it is showing 88% charge.    $8.43 USD delivered to my mailbox.

I will update this post in a few days and share what I think at that point,  Hopefully Good News.

You can peel off the plastic cover and the actual battery capacity may print on the metal case.

UPDATE :
The Samsung battery seems comparable to the Pine battery in discharge rates, but it appears to charge just a little bit faster, at least in my case/usage.
***** the Pine battery has been 'in use' about a year plus,    while the Samsung just started soo.....

bcnaz, I got one of those on your recommendation, with similar good results. Thanks.

The Samsung battery I received did have the little Holographic dot on it,  so maybe it is a 'real' Samsung battery ?

That particular vender seems to have 'sold out' at this time, and none of the others seem to have Genuine Samsung,     just OEM replacements.

Manufacturers of fakes were putting holograms on them a long time ago, so that's not a reliable indicator.

You are absolutely correct about that

However, so far the battery appears to be satisfactory, I'm just sharing my thoughts as I go.

It is a fairly inexpensive item to purchase, and it could prove handy to have a spare.

>> I should mention that I have noticed that when I do swap the batteries, the time seems to get changed in the operating system.

Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.
