Is Pinebook Pro Available or Is It Not?
#1
The Pine64 website gives conflicting claims about the availability of its products.

On the home page, it gives the option to pre-order Pinebook Pro. But pressing this leads to a product page which gives no option to preorder, which says that the product is out of stock, and gives no indication of when or if it will be back in stock.

So I guess, shortly phrased, my question is "When will Pinebook Pro be available to purchase?"

As of their last community update, not right now.  They're hoping for late Feburary into March, but it depends on their ability to source LCD panels.

The "store" site is seriously lacking in this. You get four pages deep before you figure out (in fine print!) that you can't actually order something. But Pine64 seems to be very low-budget, and that's good for us, except that we need a lot of patience in these matters.

Have there been hardware updates on with the PBP? (will this next round be at all different than the earlier batches?)

I am a previous Pinebook Pro owner that had mine broken (my fault)...so looking to purchase another...

Yes. The casework is different. I'm not sure how much different. I have two from 2020 and they are different. Perhaps both are different from earlier ones, I don't know.

What broke on yours?

You might be able to get replacement parts. Although probably not an LCD.

Cheap enough that I am fine with just ordering a new one, when available. (good to support the project that way as well) Just have to be patient I suppose...

BTW, assuming "KC9UDX" is your callsign... I'm a ham as well. "K1MAV" Smile
