3D Printed PinePhone stand
#11
Thank you so much @simoni for uploading this stand! It looks incredible! One thing to note for those looking to print the stand: it doesn't fit with the official hard shell on the phone; I would imagine the same is true for the soft shell. Not a big issue, though!

Also, I'm currently making some modifications of my own to your design. I'm going in the opposite direction of @arcanemachine (thanks as well for your uploaded stands!) and making it a wee bulkier, but with more functionality. I've added a slimmed version of this microSD/USB/SD card holder, so it can hold five microSD cards, five USB drives/dongles, and two full-sized SD cards (or two more microSD cards in microSD-to-SD card adapters). Tux thrown in for good measure, and the Pine64 logo cut out from the sides to slightly reduce the amount of filament needed. Haven't printed yet, but will be releasing it once I do. A preview:

Very nice jobs  Smile  I'm looking for something like that.

I've an idea, as yours stands are in two parts, could you find a way to fix the part with the hole for the USB-C cable in landscape position to use the Pinephone in landscape mode ?

I've been meaning to do that... If you want to check back in 2 or 3 days, I should have a new version ready.

If you don't want to wait (and are handy with FreeCAD), the FreeCAD files are in my Thingiverse link.

Hello @arcanemachine,

I'm waiting Smile

Thank you.

OK, it's ready. It's the v3.0 version on the Thingiverse page linked below.

Caveats:

- It's pretty ugly and bulky compared to the old one (which is still on the Thingiverse as the v2.1 version). I might redesign the whole thing at some point in the future, but for now, it should do what it needs to.
- I have not personally tested the print (FreeCAD says the center of mass is still where it needs to be to prevent the stand from tipping over when empty)

That being said, it's there now if you want it. Please let me know how it works for you.

Uploaded my version to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4681232

It printed really well! I still have some post-processing to do, but even without the rubber feet, it takes a lot to make it budge. It certainly doesn't topple over, either. The bracket's slots on the back turned out to be a wee tight for the matching tabs on the base, but I'm thinking about replacing those with a couple rails so the brackets can slide on/off, allowing you to swap between portrait and landscape holders. Might also figure out something to do for the dock, but I'm not sure what to do with that just yet considering the shortness and stiffness of its cable.
