Use the PinePhone as a Linux mini PC?

What do you mean by "isn't fully opensource"? Librem 5 is the only phone aiming to get "Respects Your Freedom" certification from the FSF, it does not contain any binary blobs in Linux, while Pinephone does. It is expensive for a reason. More details: https://forums.puri.sm/t/comparing-specs...hones/6827.

There is also Neo900, which also looks abandoned unfortunately: https://neo900.org/.

Even so, you'd get more mileage elsewhere other than here in trying to make PinePhone and PineTime in to what they are not. Perhaps join a mailing list or forum where ECG/EEG are both being actively discussed where here it is not. Olimex is a much better offering, one to pursue instead.

Who defines what the PineTime and the PinePhone is, and what it is not? And who decides what is discussed at which place? Are there any terms and conditions in this forums which say what to post at which place?

There are a handful of determined posters here who feel entitled to know the one and only acceptable religion. They down-vote the reputation of whoever dares to express a different opinion. Now you have been warned Cool

The comment from @lot378 is suggesting that you might get more help from people who know the subject mater. @lot378 did NOT suggest that EEG was not possible. Nor suggest EEG was in-appropriate.

Everyone calm down. @lot378 actually made a GOOD suggestion. Someone writing reminder apps on PineTime, or making the PinePhone into a Mini-PC may not have experience, (or much knowledge), of EEG.

@Peter Gamma, please feel free to post on the subject of EEG using Pine64 products. Just understand their is currently no hardware or software known to me that supports EEG on Pine64 products. (But, I freely admit my knowledge is limited...)

BrainFlow is the solution for EEG on the Pinephone. It runs on Linux:
