Pine phone Battery life vs operating system
#11
Manjaro with Lomiri GUI (Updates will follow today):

8:10 -> 97%

10:00 -> 97%

15:04 -> 97%

So this OS seems to hold power pretty well.

Let's watch youtube...

after 12 minute video at 720p, full brightness, connected through wifi: 88%

If the Pinephone maintains this power consumption, it could last about 2 hours through a full charge- roughly the length of a movie.

I am Lucky to have multiple Pine phones, The one I use as a 'Daily Driver' I strictly use the 'Mobian Stable' as the operating system.
I do not want to miss any important calls or texts.

The testing phone(s) I do use the nightly releases on are not as dependable, Some Nightly Releases work great, but sometimes they do not.

Mobian + Phosh

The battery level is 16% after 24 hours of standby with very little phone usage.

Brand new PMOS 3g ram phone factory Post Market OS, 91% at 4 hours, mostly stand-by, a little surfing, testing Gnome web and Firefox browsers via wifi,
No sim card yet, wifi left on, Bluetooth off.

Brave Heart phone running Mobian Sept 05 stable OS on sd card 37% at 12 hours, including a bunch of sms texting.
wifi used to check for updates, then turned off, Bluetooth off.

PinePhone community edition (2 GB RAM, 16 GB eMMS) with Mobian + Phosh. From 100% charge to 2% battery there were 25 hours. The phone was mostly on idle with several voice calls and update from terminal by WiFi.

Based on our most recent comments it looks like Mobian has the battery life for a daily driver now officially. Id say the same for Manjaro Phosh and pmos phosh. Big improvements on battery life From a month ago. Hopefully to come to our Lomiri DEs as well.

With light usage my PMOS convergence phone with recent Mobian nightly release will have a lil gas left in the tank after a day off the charger.

Manajaro Plasma has a great battery life if you configure the session suspend to a low value when getting out of home, let's say 1 minute = 60000ms, the command would be

`kwriteconfig5 --file powermanagementprofilesrc --group Battery --group SuspendSession --key idleTime 60000`

and you have to reaload the configuration or reboot the phone

alternatively you can also manually edit the hidden file

~/.config/powermanagementprofilesrc

Battery Related :
When I leave my phone on the charger after it reaches 100% it does get very warm, it seems even warmer than when it is actually charging ..

(That is when running on recent Mobian images.)
