Looking forward to it
I just flashed the image and tried a sim card, the name of my ISP is shown at start up but then Mobile Network says 'no sim card'. Hopefully there'll be an update soon.

no, short of a blow by blow account of how to do it, I'll wait a while. If calls actually work with good audio I'd certainly use SF on PP as my main device

It's really beautiful. Recorded a video showing latest release on Pinephone:
https://youtu.be/Ar70x44jfTU

This is the most 'smooth' performing Pinephone distro I have tried thus far. Video is unedited and plays at "actual speed".

Impressive IMHO and shows Pinephone hardware is capable of a smooth experience Smile

Good morning,

I copied and ran the scripts today (and adjusted the permissions to make sure that the script can be executed / write files ) but I still have the same issue - no sim card installed.
I also enhanced the delay to 40 seconds - still the same issue.

Is there a way to access the console or watch the boot process ?

Edit: I checked the log with dmesg. It seems like the system connects the modem 4 times and shuts it down after the modem didn’t respond rdy in time . This seems to be odd for me . I attached a “screen shot” if anyone is interested .

Interestingly looking at 'journalctl -u ofonod' I can see ofono does read the IMEI correctly

Code:
Sep 16 16:01:20 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Ignoring Plugin to read EFACL from SIM
Sep 16 16:01:20 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: CREATE SFOS MANAGER PLUGIN
Sep 16 16:01:38 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Got IMEI 8676980xxxxxxxx
Sep 16 16:01:38 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: service capabilities 4
Sep 16 16:01:38 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: sim supported 2
Sep 16 16:01:38 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Use modem qmimodem
Sep 16 16:01:39 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Requested file structure differs from SIM: 6fb7
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Unable to read waiting messages numbers from SIM
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Unable to read mailbox identifies from SIM
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: 0x226978 online
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: slot_gobi_slot_set_data_role
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: 2
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: Post online 0x226978
Sep 16 16:01:40 PinePhone systemd[1]: Started Telephony service.
Sep 16 16:01:41 PinePhone ofonod[2929]: LTE attach IP type: 0

So I don't think the "No SIM" message is related to ofono, looks like the sim is presenting something unexpected to ofonod.
