Conclusion:  This OS is not ready for the pinephone to be a daily driver. There are some sound quality issues on calls.

Also, Soon I will be creating new threads for testing results to engage a little bit better based on feedback on a few threads I have been monitoring.
Hello,
I did a "software" update after flashing the above listed 'nightly release' (August 17)
Then the camera does function, - usable but not great yet.
** However, then the sms/text app does not function properly...
The sms/text app will only open after it receives an incoming text.
What would be a way to evaluate the battery? It makes me crazy. It discharges overnight, it gets too hot during charging, it last few hours... The battery is an important point, not easy to evaluate I guess.

I believe there is a hardware bug on the UBPorts edition that causes the battery to drain via the modem. Something like after you turn it off, pull the battery out and wait a few seconds before putting it back in.  Testing these types of things are actually quite difficult using my approach. Not sure there is a whole bunch I can do with this one.

Seems like your reports are great for comparing operating systems to each other.
There is plenty of room and subject space on the forum where we can discuss certain issues
with each particular system.
Just downloading operating systems and flashing sd cards takes some time, then multiply that by
how many systems.?.. etc. It can take an hour just to zero wipe an sd card.
Thank you for your contributions.

Are you doing a complete reinstall of Mobian? I have been checking daily for updates in the Software app but have not seen any available updates for apps or the OS itself.

Ok, thank you! I guess the text issue is a regression as I have no problems sending and receiving sms or making and receiving calls.
