I'm running into the same issue (only 1GB detected in the 2GB model) and I found this thread via Google.

I followed your instructions to install the new kernel, but after upgrading it can still see only 1GB:

Code:
javilm@pine64pro:~$ uname -a
Linux pine64pro 3.10.102-0-pine64-longsleep #7 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jun 17 21:30:48 CEST 2016 aarch64 GNU/Linux
javilm@pine64pro:~$ cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal:        1003836 kB
MemFree:          778320 kB
Buffers:            9492 kB
Cached:           120692 kB

I'm assuming there's something I'm doing wrong or that I missed some step somewhere. Could you let me know what you'd need from me in order to troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance,

Any luck with this?
I am having the same issue.

Just to make sure, can you try one of the latest images, like https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/linux-b...118.img.xz and report back? If that one also detects only 1GB, I would go with faulty hardware...

Thanks @xalius, I will give it a try and update once I do.
I am also suspecting hardware issue.

So for sure that is a hardware issue  right? There is no BIOS update like procedure for the board that I can do as we usually do in PCs?

I installed Armbian and this is what I get one login

Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 3.10.107-pine64
System load:   0.24 0.36 0.22  Up time:       12 min Local users:   2
Memory usage:  17 % of 979MB  Swap usage:    42 % of 489Mb  IP:            192.168.10.240
CPU temp:      39°C
Usage of /:    16% of 15G

Then I tried the memtester and get the following result

dooshi@pine64:~$ sudo memtester 2048
[sudo] password for dooshi:
memtester version 4.3.0 (64-bit)

got  1116MB (1170866176 bytes), trying mlock ...Killed

You can see the picture of the hardware, its a 2GB model but showing 1GB with all the OS i tried.
I have opened a claim to the seller now as a hardware fault.
