Official Debian release won't boot!?!

In my experience, the official installer in unstable does not install the bootloader yet.
If you have flashed the bootloader to SPI, you only need to take care of extlinux.conf and the dtb files (the EFI stuff is imho not needed) as described by Bullet64.
If you don't have the bootloader in SPI, you have to manually build and flash the bootloader to your sdcard.

=> As of now, installing Debian unstable using the official installer does not work as intended yet. I can't recommend it for end-users.
