some apu board version can have ecc ram. 6
ryzen processors tend to support ecc ram in general.
marvell updated their infrastructure processor line fairly recently. those would make superb SOCs for storage purposes.

you don't only get ecc ram, but ecc protected caches, but a superb selection of built-in controllers from 1/2.5/5/10gbit copper or sfp ports, up to 6 sata ports. or 9 PCIe 3.0 controllers across 14 lanes - depending on what you try to do. SERDES lanes limit the usable interfaces, so vendors have to pick and choose, but you can still expect beefy systems.
So I expect some good storage server boards coming up,
