Hey @LittleWalter, regarding the Ergodox Planck Keyboard one question: I tried to install Wally on the default debian system and followed the Linux Install Guide here. However, even after making it executable it won't work. When invoking "wally" it simply states "command not found".
I work with Debian GNU/Linux 9.11 with MATE as desktop manager, use st as my terminal emulator, MATE als my desktop manager and dwm as my window manager.
Hiya FingO,
I'm kinda "cheating" in the sense that I used the macOS client version of the Wally app. I'm mostly using my macOS-centric layout on the PBP. I might eventually get around to a Linux-centric layout that would be useful for cut/copy/paste/etc.
The only thing I modded is adding a generic brightness up/down on my "Adjust layer" holding both lower and raise keys down; the macOS navigation layer is pretty much inert on Linux, obviously.
I looked at the instructions the Linux version Wally and said "forget it for now" just like getting around to messing with the QMK source code. I'm super rusty at the low-level C programming language but it would def. be useful to tinker with.
I think I had read somewhere that there are issues with getting the Linux Wally client working; might have seen that lurking Jack Humbert's (the Plank keyboard creator) olkb subreddit, which I believe he is the moderator for.
You might want to try out a Windows machine (gross!) or a macOS system; or better yet maybe load up Windows or macOS on virtualbox or VMWare.
GL, though! Sorry, I couldn't help you very much.
LittleWalter
P.S. Here's my kitchen sink, "maximalist" programmer's Dvorak layout, if you find it useful: search for Dvorak on the Oryx configurator and it's about 8 pages down (as of 2019-02-26) entitled "Spacecentricity for macOS/Programmer's Dvorak" with the creation date of 2019-10-02 and you'll see the same user name. Can't just paste a URL for whatever reason; ZSA's configurator ain't great for sharing or searching for that matter. (Ignore all of the other versions I cloned by accident after 2019-10-02.)
Edit: Doh! Wrong! Here's my layout link: https://configure.ergodox-ez.com/planck-...o/latest/0
Thought it wasn't loading, but it just takes awhile and I'm not very patient.
