The tutorial says one must modify both of these files on a raspberry. That, and enable I2C.

Differences... I won't comment on as I'm not sure of the current state of affairs.

Not sure about config.txt... it's equivalent from the pine64 doesn't seem to be around any more. Maybe it's all device-tree overlay stuff now? Which would be a bit annoying as you would get no output until the system is nearly booted. Maybe would have to also fiddle with the /boot/efi/extlinux/extlinux.conf parameters passed to the kernel?

rc.local support is not enabled by default... this will help you get it working if you need it.
