It used to be possible in Phosh, until the guys at the Purism team decided it was "unnecessary" and removed the ability to close the app drawer with no way to re-enable it.

Notice the last comment (which I wrote) suggesting to make this optional rather than mandatory 11 months ago, despite that 1 thumbs up, there still seems to be no willingness to actually do so.

Despite my clear criticism against Phosh on many aspects, I still use it as the main DE, but it's not because I believe it's the best DE out there, but rather because it's the least bad DE.
