I just double checked as I installed the latest batch of updates to the stable channel, and it's still running fine, so I don't know what's happening there for one distro to work, and another to not work.

ugh i just figured it out

it turns out that what I thought was my 2.4GHz band was actually my neighbour's wifi. my landlord only has a 5GHz. Same SSID except for the "-5G" Tried the 5, tried the 2.4, restarted, kept trying the 2.4.

this has been a problem for me for days! talk about pebkac Dodgy
