UPDATE:
By simply running rufferson's build_image.sh script and dd'ing the resulting image to an SD card, I can get PureOS to boot on the PP64 3GB. However, after flashing the same image to the eMMC, it won't even power up (no lights, blank screen). Maybe there is some specific procedure for flashing to the eMMC, I don't know. (The command I used was: sudo dd if=/librem5r4.img of=/dev/sdg bs=16k status=progress). The Postmarket and Ubuntu Touch images boot up with no problems when installed to the eMMC.
