IR Receiver

Yes I cut the leads a bit so it sits just above the header. Just make sure to make the leads not too short as you might get contact problems.

I also made some headway in figuring out how to use the IR receiver and the remote with Linux: http://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=1424

Hi, did you see http://wiki.pine64.org/images/7/7d/Pine6...nector.png ? No need to solder, there is a 3x1 header where you can stick the IR receiver, as for the pinout, it is describe in the schematic and/or in http://wiki.pine64.org/images/d/da/Pine64_Connector.JPG. I just mounted mine facing outwards and trying to see if I can get it working with Linux...

I did not see that! Thank you very much! That is very helpful!

Did you cut length ofthe IR receiver? It looks as if there isn't enough room for the top (with the risers on) to be on?

I inserted the receiver facing OUT and it worked immediately with Android and Kodi.

Guys, what about using another IR Remote, is it possible? I have one from an old android box and I`d like to use it.

Thanks.

Do you have a datasheet for your IR transistor?
