digitizer dead

since quite a while, I realize my pinephone does not accept the letter Y on the onscreen keyboard. This happens in Manjaro Plasma mobile, and also in Postmarket OS SXMO. The screen is delaminating. Could this be a hardware related problem, or is it a software thing?
I'm having the same problem. I had to replace the screen after a year of use because a dead touch zone appeared as a horizontal bar in the middle of the screen. 3 months after replacing the screen, the bottom 1cm of the new screen is no longer sensitive to touch. OS is Manjaro Phosh but I suspect a hardware issue.
