Disassembling PineBook Pro Docking Deck (due to disappeared microSD card)
#1
Question
Hello,

unfortunately a microSD card "was eaten by" / disappeared inside the "Docking Deck".

This happened because I was careless and on the other hand because the slots and sockets/plugs in the "Docking Deck" housing were not well aligned.

The question now is, how the "Docking Deck" housing can be opened (without damage) to remove the loose, freely moving SD card.

Any advice is welcome, thanks.

Seems like it involves some destructive activity?

I've also had the same issue (microSD card disappeared), and I want to thank @gritibaenz for this thread!

I want to add that there is non-destructive way to open the case, just heat the black cover (I've used my wife's hair dryer, no special hot air gun is needed) and pry it after the glue melts:

Then the housing can be opened.

It was a little bit weird that the two screws are different sizes, but anyway. Everything works after the reassembly.

Exact same oopsie.  But the larger issue is how to bend stuff so that it lines up properly?  I was too afraid to just start prying.
