Living in a country where the government just wasted $50 *billion* of tax victims' money to bail out the airline industry, an industry which is destroying much of the country's livability by flying lower and lower and laughs in peoples' faces when they complain about being battered by the noise, an industry which I would have been ecstatic to see cut down to size instead... not to mention the mere trillion or two spent on foreign wars and invasions, I would tend to say that taxation is the ultimate form of fraud, protecting what you have from armed thieves can never be fraud, no matter how much those thieves try to brainwash people, and starving the beast, not terrified compliance, is the most socially responsible course of action.

If the money is under my control, I can put it to better use, and I do.

I hear they have a tyrant government in Hong Kong and China too, I'm not surprised they do things the same way.

Taxes are the basis for a well-functioning society: for universal education and healthcare, equal law and order, child care, environmental protection, infrastructure, firefighting, and you name it. In many European countries, this is working quite well.

I think we can agree that the country you describe is very dysfunctional, which is a big shame. The result of big corporations owning the parties, thus ensuring that tax money is directed away from anything that "threatens" them, like good mass education, sane environmental laws, and anything that prevents them from siphoning off huge chunks of that same money using unjust methods (e.g. by privately-run prisons - just one out of countless examples)? This is not the fault of taxes, but of the people being fooled into electing very bad representatives like the current clown, instead of someone who actually cares.

But I digress, this is very off topic...

Ok, this post is going to be closed in no time...

I just hope that for the next shipping, things will go better. As a customer of the UBports edition, I would advise Pine64 to try to improve relationships with any unhappy customer.

Good luck for all the "postmarket edition" buyers!! This time I pass. I will keep playing with my phone, and I might get another one if there is a qualitative improvement that justifies it.

See you around!

Hello!

I have purchased a Pinebook Pro upgraded on April, but still did not receive it. I have sent several emails asking for updates, but did not receive any answer? Is there anyone I can talk to in order to receive an update on this matter? Thank you.

Best regards,

I am sorry to hear that. I see some posters using @Luke and @tllim but am not certain if that helps in getting a response in the forums. Maybe tweet @thepine64? Lastly, you can just go nuclear and dispute with PayPal. After all, Pine64's logistical drama is theirs to sort. If I were in your position, I would dispute with PayPal. Right now, you are lending Pine64 money at 0% interest!

I agree. You should contact PayPal. You are not doing any bad to Pine64. They are shipping thousands of phones, it is normal to have a few will not make it. They will refund it, so you can get the last version.

PinePhone stuck in customs? - N900 - 08-05-2020

I ordered a PinePhone that was shipped to France with Asendia. According to the the tracking system, the package arrived in France on July 1st, but there are no updates since then (the tracking system still shows the package as in transit). Is it plausible that the package has been stuck in customs for one month, or should I start to worry about it being lost?

I have tried to contact my local postal service and sales@pine64, but didn't get any answer...

From many posts I have read here, it gives the impression that once the package is shipped Pine64 doesn't feel responsible. Kind of now the responsibility is for the shipping company.

I might be wrong, but there are so many unanswered complaints. Maybe they consider the forum is not the right place, and they are answering many through e-mail.

Maybe they don't want to answer here, because they are afraid so many people will do the same.

In any case, their image is not good. If I were Pine64, I would have at least a written answer with the steps to take to help people who are worried about the shipping. Ignoring is never a good strategy

I hope you get help soon

RE: Pinebook Pro & PinePhone shipping progress - Luke - 08-07-2020

Hey all,

We're slowly getting ready to ship the next Pinebook Pro, PinePhone and PineTab batches so I will be closing this thread.
I understand that some still experience issues pertaining to shipping of the UBports CE and Q2 Pinebook Pros.
Here is the thread I've set up where these can be discussed and resolved.

Once again, thank you for all your patience and understanding - we've learnt a lot from this experience.
