RE: Pinebook Pro & PinePhone shipping progress - cilyrik - 06-23-2020

Can't change my shipment to DHL because I didn't receive any Order Confirmation Email from Pine64. The only thing that proves my order is a PayPal transaction to Syabas Technology Hong Kong from 2nd of April 2020. How do I swap to DHL then?

Have you contacted sales@pine64.org? Perhaps if you email them from the address you used when you ordered, they can look up the order number for you. Also, check your spam folders on your email, since some email providers pick up their emails as spam.

Hi Guys, @Luke
Could you please comment why it is not possible to upgrade to DHL in Russia? I see in previous DHL upgrade it was impossible and now it is impossible too? are there any problems or it is just because of small amount of orders from Russia?

@stepnoy_volk
I wrote email to sales@pine64.org with same  question about week ago. That what they answered:

Quote:DHL doesn't provide service of package to Russia. We don't have any information when will have. We believe Asendia will resume service soon when the flights resume service schedule like pre-covid-19.

Thank you!

Regards,
Pine64 team

I don't think this is correct, because DHL works very fine in Russia. DHL also delivers packages to Russia from other countries without any problems.

@Luke, any comments, please?

Whence that amount is pre-ordered, they close pre-orders and send off the request to the manufacturing group to build them.

It's clumsy, sure, and many would like a better method. On the other hand, these are low volume devices. A normal laptop might see 50,000 made and sold in the first year. Plus, those large companies can afford to sit on inventory. So I don't know how to improve the situation, other than they should consider having quarterly pre-orders. (Which is more or less what they are doing.)

This last 8 months has been a bit of a challenge  for 3 different reasons;
* Hong Kong has been going through a few changes
* Chinese new year changed out some manufacturing staff
* And of course, the disease.

OK - - - thanks.
So if the pre-ordering is on a quarterly basis I should be able to join the queue in about 11 days - - - - yes?
No. It's not that exact. There is a need to get the prior products fully shipped. Plus, learn what problems their were, to fix them if possible for the next batch.

I don't have any further information.
So its hurry up and wait a while - - - - all situations normal.

Waiting . . .
