"There is import duty/tax due on your shipment. The amount is GBP 49.77. "

Is this expected to be paid by me or will it clear automatically?

Ignore this I've paid it. It occurred to me this isn't something pine64 have any control over Sad Still a bit of a sting though.

I know we will have to pay import tax but £49.77 on a $150 purchase seems excessive. I tried an online import tax calculator and it came out at £27.

You've got the £150 purchase plus whatever you paid in shipping. Now add any duty due. Now apply VAT to all of that. DHL will charge you the duty, the VAT, plus £11 handling fee (or 2.5% if that's greater). They should be giving you a breakdown of this. Welcome to the wonderful world of personal imports - it can be a bit of a shock the first time, but after that you factor it into the price you expect to end up paying. Sometimes you get lucky. Handling fees vary by carrier, so it's worth checking before you pick.

$15 is "Cheap shipping". DHL costs $30.

Everyone with DHL has shipment mail?
Unlike others, I still have no shipment mail neither from DHL no PINE64. Sad

Bummer, guess I'll have to tough it out till July!

No email from DHL about my PINEPHONE order placed May 21st either. Actually ordered 2, the other ordered May 14 is coming Standard shipping. Hard Case (also ordered May 14) shows 2020-05-20 01:09 Origin Post is Preparing Shipment -> We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece. Guess now I wait for all 3 pieces and see if I get an email with tracking info or an update on the case.

Still haven't receive an email for the PineBook Pro order placed May 11.

RE: Pinebook Pro & PinePhone shipping progress - daniel - 05-28-2020

From what I am reading there are two types of shippings: $15 and $30. The last is though DHL, FedEx, etc and the first is 'cheap shipping'

$30 shipping will get an email and track number. Without custums it looks it only takes a few days.

What about $15 shipping? do we get email or tracknumber?? is this regular mail service? how long is expected to take this route?

I got the DHL shipping for the PinePhone but have yet to receive the email.

Is there anyone who placed an PBP order in March and not received the DHL notification yet? I placed my order on March 17. Didn't receive any notification from the May 28 batch. Checking my email every few hours.
