Updated Jessie OpenMediaVault Community Build Image [microSD to eMMC] [0.5.15-136] by ayufan

RE: Linux Images (ROCK64) - thewonderer - 12-19-2017

I've been using a RPI and BPI for a while now and am pleased to see the Rock64 is ARM64 rather than just ARM... Is there a noticeable difference in performance between 32 bit linux / debian apps and 64bit ones? Realise 64bit will use more memory and storage.

Thanks.

RE: Linux Images (ROCK64) - dkryder - 12-19-2017

i have the pine64 2 GB and the rock64 4 GB. and from my experience i would bet that if the pine64 had 4GB and was running a 64bit kernel and had a 32bit userspace on the pine64 it would outperform the rock64 in some applications like making changes to large text files, running diffs on good sized code blocks and others. but in video applications rock64 wins all events.

This new image also only detects my FullHD monitor with only 800x600 resolution.   Angry   ( Rock64 4gb v.2.0)
sudo apt-get update -y && sudo apt-get upgrade gives me an error:

you might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install'

when i do this libgles1-mesa (>=7.8.1) is not installed and DPKG has error processing libgles1-mesa_13.0.6-1+b2_arm64.deb overwriting libGLESv1_CM.so.1

NO Change log but you fixed the update bug. Wink

one url is not working
You don't have permission to access /os/ROCK64/debian/stretch-mate-rock64-0.5.15-136-20171222-arm64.img.xz on this server.

But I still get 800x600 max resolution Angry

you are doing something wrong because that build on my rock64 runs at default 1920x1080 60Hz with options for 1280x720 and 800x600 as shown by mate control center displays selection.  so i would say there is something wrong with your hardware setup or how you have your software configured. the pastebin you linked is gone so can not comment on that.

No it must be a hdmi thing.

If I plug it with my Samsung tv I get full hd resolution, just not with my pc benq monitor..!

Here I only see hdmi unknown.
Xrand is not helping either and i dont know how to import the edid.

RE: Linux Images (ROCK64) - dkryder - 12-22-2017

nice to know you finally established the build does work unless there is something wrong with the hardware setup. what model is the benq?
