Accessories that already ready are Acrylic case, Air mouse, IR Remote control, PoE splitter, HDMI cable, US Power Supply, Global Power Supply. LiPo 8000mAH battery, Wifi+BT module.

I backed "early bird February". You say that March one started sending and I do not even got "we shipped something to you" message.

You are joking, right?
Raspberry/Pi was released few years ago and is still not fully supported in mainline kernel (nevermind 1/2/0/3). There are SBCs which have mainline kernel support for everything which is present on board - check AllWinner ones, Texas Instruments, Freescale etc.
Debian, Fedora support over 100 ARM boards with mainline kernels. R/Pi is not there.
And you call it 'the best'...
Pine64 is still in a queue to most of it's users and patches (done by external devs) to get it supported are already on a way to mainline kernel.

Thanks Smile

LCD touch screens currently in design phase and available on mid April.

RE: Shipping Progress - jhgoodwin - 03-22-2016

My suggestion to those waiting for their devices - just be patient.

I can only imagine what sort of logistical headaches they are going through, plus all the unforeseen expenses trying to hit scale in such a short time.

With margins as tight as they're cutting for their board, I imagine the folks at pine are due some slack, since this is their first delivery of their boards.

I would imagine if I suddenly had to fulfill 80k boards instead of a thousand or so like they were initially hoping for, I would soil my shorts.

To those who keep asking for status updates, I would wait for them to plow through their initial order some before demanding updates on what is being shipped when.  By getting nervous and asking tons of one-off questions, you are only making it take longer for everyone.

I know it's exciting, but don't let your enthusiasm take away your enjoyment when you finally get your board by making you impatient.  Many journalists predicted that the pine64 would be available early 2017.  Personally, I think even if I get my board in first half of 2016, they're doing great.

Just my two cents,
John

RE: Shipping Progress - gubaguba - 03-22-2016

I understand that there are production issues. What I don't understand is not communicating what you do and don't have available clearly. I wouldn't have ordered a touch screen if I knew it would delay shipment potentially 2 months. If you are still designing it in late March I don't think it is probable you will have it in Mid April to ship. That is three weeks.

How about some transparency so I can make informed decisions. Frankly I feel like I was mislead you sold me something you not only didn't have, you haven't even designed yet and I have already been billed for it. That is no way to do business.

RE: Shipping Progress - amc2012 - 03-22-2016

I just wanted to say a big thank you to @tllim who, in the complete absence of any reliable updates on the actual Kickstarter PINE64 page, has responded here regularly, and patiently, to all questions related to shipping.

Again, many many thanks for taking time out of your day to do this.

Great to know we are now at the final stages!

What about RTC Backup Battery - CR and 5MP camera module? Are these also now available for dispatch?

PS: Dear TL Lim, I think you'll need some good sleep when all this thing is over! Big Grin

5MP pixel camera will be on April 4 week (we redesign due to previous one has some noise issue)
RTC Battery backup (CR and AAA), HDMI-VGA adapter, HAMI-DVI adapter either just arrived or available on next week.

Looks like I created some misunderstanding,

The 5M Pixel camera will be deliver on the week of April 4, 2016, not 4th week of April.

Sorry, my bad.

Thanks for clarifying this. That's reasonable.

I was hoping I will have my order shipped sometime the coming week but it's OK to wait for just another one.

Do you have any update on when the heatsink will be available to order? What about the UVC camera support? Have you tried one with you Pine?

Cheers!

RE: Shipping Progress - monsieurmarc - 03-22-2016

I am backer 259 and my backerkit has been locked for quite some time. I emailed the Pine64 guys asking them to reopen so I can amend my address as I am about to move house (which would not of been an issue with the dates my backerkit claimed for delivery)

Anyway I received the following reply

"Thanks for contacting us and being a backer! Early Bird and Holiday packages have been processing and shipping out daily. You will be receiving updated shipping info in the next couple of weeks. Please bare with us as we are manually entering all backers' tracking number in due to issues with Backerkit as mentioned in our update. At this stage we cannot make any changes to your order.
Regards"

So there we go they are going to ship my order to a house that someone else will be living in. You could not get a worse example of customer service.

The heatsink samples already arrived, but we have not fully evaluate yet.

On the UVC camera, I have try out Logitech webcam 270 and don't work on both Android and Remix build. As my understanding the Android 4.2 and above support UVC cam. We still exploring on UVC camera support and will bring up this topic when meet up with Remix folks on early April in Beijing.

Thanks for the update about the heatsinks. Hope they will be proven worthy and  get forwarded to production soon.

Sad to hear about the USB camera issue. As you say, from Android 4.2 and onwards the UVC support is embedded, so  it should have been working..

Please do whatever possible to update those video drivers as with this incompatibility, it's not only USB camera projects which are affected but you can't use Skype  with Pine64 as well. This is paramount feature. Hope this will be fixed soon. Hopefully in the next Android image.
