what uboot is installed on your emmc? could be the cause of the video issue.
I have no emmc, just NVMe and uboot that boots from NVMe.

One more thing: sometimes I got horrible screen flickering. As I type these lines it was so severe my eyes started to hurt. Previously it happened with a Debian edition using the 4.4 legacy kernel...
It seems to be random: somtimes it is really severe, sometimes nothing for hours. Any ideas on that?

I’m guessing it’s a mainline uboot then (spi, or uboot on name?) mainline uboot doesn’t do video well/right/sometimes at all with bsp images lately.

I think it is mainline, I even do not remember, just wanted one that boots from NVMe.

@also1412

Any ideas for this? Would be great to get rid of it...

I tried to realign the LCD, as it was off. But it did not solve it.

So I take it it (Fyde OS) wont update automatically but via a download then as I am still on version 11.2

Dont mind and no hardship but seems a little counter intuitive

Will give it a try later

It's designed to be capable of receiving OTA updates just like a Chromebook, but with v11.2 there are some known glitches that needed to be addressed before the payload can be successfully applied. We were in the process of fixing the issues until one day our ONLY testing device failed to function in our lab Sad

So we are now waiting for deliveries before we can tweak this. Till then, if you wish to have the latest version v11.4 (with minor tweaks and enhancements) you can download the image and boot it.

v12 is in the oven and will be ready soon-ish, we will try to get v12 delivered via OTA.

Sorry for the delay in posting responses here, the easiest way to get hold of me or the team is to find us on our Telegram channel.

I followed the instructions, and FydeOS does now boot from SD card but the original Manjero does not.
Specifically I followed the instructions substituting X for 2 because Manjaro is on /dev/mmcblk2
I also noticed when installing uboot-pinebookpro-bsp that this conflicted with uboot-pinebookpro which was removed.
1. What did I do wrong?
2. Is there a way to get Manjaro working again?
If not then it's slightly annoying but not a disaster.  I might even reimage the EMMC with ChromeOS for a while to play with it.

Hey, I could boot mrfixit's Debian from an SD card. Smile Nothing else booted after changing the trust, boot and idbloader sectors.
I had enough of the FydeOS world, it's great but I need Linux, so I'll try to change to Q4OS. I installed it on my old laptop, a 2008 Fujitsu-Siemens, and man it flies! Big Grin

Does anyone else get a black screen upon boot?
