RE: Pinetime Plus? - zer0sig - 10-27-2020

I would absolutely be nito a unix-style OS for the pinetime. It would have to be based on something like LUnix or UZI. Might eat too much space to make the watch meaningfully useful, but I'm not sure about that and would absolutely try it. But I really enjoy putting Linux/Unix on things, so I would be in the minority, and also it wouldn't support most of the features people wanted most likely.

I stronglys upport making the most out of the current PineTime, with careful coding we can get a good amount of functionality on these, and as long as they stay affordable, we are more likely to have more adopters, which of course then will attract more coders and more OSes/ROMs for it. Maybe in a couple of years it will be plausible to get a Linux or BSD running on hardware for under 100 bucks or so. I hope so, but I'm looking forward to seeing what can be done on the PineTime now. Clearly, we are quite early in the journey on this, and I look forward to being a part of it.
