We're having serious problems with one of the IRC nodes - this will take 6-12 hours to resolve.

Is there a reason not to use Freenode servers and just have an pine channel? A lot of Linux project are having there their IRC room.

Historic reasons (began as a project on the original PINE A64) but also some bridges, bots etc., that we run on it for communication reasons.
