: I can confirm that factory reset is not working, it is not getting stuck but due to an error in our initrd it does not get executed.
I hope to find time this week to correct it.

Edit: The problem has been located, module iso8859-1 was missing in initrd due to an incorrect kernel setting.
This was not just the problem with factory reset, it affected the initial data partition resize (upon first boot) also and was not executed.
The image is being fixed right now, hope to be able to publish it later tonight or tomorrow.

Hi,

I did notice two problems. First, the rescan and update of the NAS drive is not working. After adding more folders with music I tried to rescan and this take in-definitive time without results. Also volumio did not see a new usb with music plugged on the pine board.

Rescanning/ Uodate is not necessarily pine related, there are reports from other boards too. Note my post above, the data partition did not get resized, potential cause of all kinds of problems when space runs out.
This has been fixed, new image is coming soon.

I would really like you guys posting issues on the volumio forum, I'm normally not reading here.

I'm having WIFI issues myself PINE64+WIFI module.

I have the following in my device config file but it's not picking up an IP upon boot.

sudo nano /etc/network/devices

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet dhcp

auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
allow-hotplug wlan0
wpa-ap-scan 1
wpa-scan-ssid 1
wpa-ssid "Network name"
wpa-psk "Network password"

I've also tried this

https://volumio.org/forum/configure-volu...t3953.html

Same results. Has anybody been able to make this work?

And... which DAC did you use?  Wink

I'm using usb to SPDIF converter, with SPDIF to an AKM AK4458 DAC.

Sound over SPDIF is much better than using internal headphone output.
I've yet to test the difference between HDMI & SPDIF sound quality.

note for Ge... FLAC/APE files don't seem to play via the headphone out. Is that expected behavior?

Yes, but it is not a flac/ ape issue. As the headphone dac can't handle it, the music gets resampled. The problem is volumio's default bit rate does not work either, you need to change this in /etc/mpd.conf. Change 44100:16:2 to 44100:24:2 and you should be ok.
Just to let you know, after the festive season we picked up again and are now focussing on the wifi issue.
We already know it is not a pine64 wifi driver/ kernel module issue, I can run volumio on the second wifi interface using manual scripts.
There is a volumio internal clash somewhere on handling wlan0, seen occasionally on other devices too.
We hope to locate that soon.

Having said that:
: is there any new info on DAC developments yet?
Ready to integrate that in volumio anytime  Cool

Sorry on the delay, please refer to attached PDF file.

The original hardware engineer keep delay this project. I will find another engineer to complete the board after Chinese New Year.
We seem to have solved wifi issues across platforms, including pine64 Big Grin
I will post a link to the new image version once it has finished the central build process.

So, here we go:

Link to the latest DEV Version

Limitation: you cannot scan the network while in hotspot-mode, this means you will have to enter your wifi details manually.
This is something we cannot solve, it appears the pine's wifi module does not support that.
Please let us know your experience with this improved image.
