Hi together,

i received my Rock64 2G yesterday and managed to install android TV on the device without problems.
After i connected it to my TV (capable of 3840 x 2160 resolution) i hoped to be able to use this resolution, but android settings shows only 1920 x 1080 and no solution above this is selectable.
How can i get 4K Resolution to work with android tv?

The main target is to use the Rock64 as a Kodi Streaming Client for my TV connected to a TVHeadend/Movie Server. If there's a better solution for this than Android as the OS im also open for alternatives
I apppreciate any help; thanks in advance!

There is a difference in the buffer and GUI resolutions. In short, GUI on android will stay at 1080p but 4K will play back in actual 4K. If I understand correctly, only RKMC will play back 4K content at actual 4K on android - while regular KODI will not.

In any case, if you don't necessarily want to use android and just want 4K playback then I encourage you to try Kwiboo's latest build of LibreELEC for the Rock64.
Thanks for the help i'll try the Libreelec!
I now tried the build and manged to get Kodi working, at least the movie stuff. Unfortunately the Tvheadend HTPS-Client Addon is not working. When trying to activate the addon i get error saying "Add-on couldn't be loaded. An unknown error has occured". As i need TV besides Movies/Series this currently does not work for me.

From the Kodi System Info the Kodi Build version is Kodi 18.0-Alpha3 Git: 8063088c, Cmpiled 1 July 2018.
The Libreelec Version is devel-2018-7011300-d46baa3

Is there maybe any newer Version for Kodi/Libreelec? Which would be the best place to post my problems?

Again thanks in advance!

https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/12151-...#post99721
this one is a bit older:
http://cvh.libreelec.tv/test/RK3328/
also taken from the same thread, you can search that same thread, im pretty sure ive seem some tvheadend stuff flying around there...
If you cant make your tvheadend stuff work you can also ask in that thread, the gurus there are pretty active...
hope this helps...
Many thanks for helping out!

The older one apparently does, tho i didnt test that myself since i have no hdr tv yet...and if i understand it correctly the latest images are based on the previous ones (even if from different users) so there are high chances that the newest one i linked does too...
