Is there a way to have HDMI CEC on Android? Smile

Thanks!

The FAQ on the Pine64 wiki (https://www.pine64.com/faq-pine-64#toggle-id-34) says it's supported.

I can confirm that the android image does NOT respond to the media buttons on my Samsung TV's remote (ala Kodi on Pi).

Maybe try a different HDMI cable. I had the same problem on my Sony TV + Pi 3. Switching the cable cured it.
It's not a cable issue. The HDMI CEC is not implemented...
What is the ETA for CEC?

CEC and Android TV Launcher would make the pine usable for media playback Smile
Yes exactly..If we don't get CEC, I am going back to my Raspberry Pi for media player.

I was eager to try Android 0428 image to see if it finally has CEC feature, but no luck.
It looks like CEC implementation for Android (https://source.android.com/devices/tv/HDMI-CEC.html) will require development effort for the manufacturer, and considering the amount of issues that they are still working on, most likely we will not see CEC functionality for some time Cry
Any CEC news on Android?
