Ok, will look into it on monday. For now, you can get android A7.1 ATV build in all variants (raw, rkflashtool, and update) from ayufan's git.
No, that's correct. It's a build of "Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS rock64" which will write the Android image to eMMC... hence the microSD to eMMC in the title [Image: wink.png] 

If you have an HDMI monitor/TV connected, it would have told you it was either 1) writing the image to eMMC if you had an eMMC connected, or 2) that it wasn't detected and then halted.
