I will ask QA to recheck the A8.1 on eMMC boot build.
Will there be any changes with that non-bootable oreo 8.1?
Flashing via usb2emmc adaptor makes non-usable image which boots to recovery page and that's all.
rock64&4Gb
And can anybody tell whether this 8.1 will support bluetooth usb probably ?
Asking took too long, where is result?
Please could you at least include navigation bar and status bar in the next build? Otherwise the board is absolutely unusable with a touchscreen

It boots but freezes. It does it enough to be unusable.
Same result with every Android image on either  mmc or sdcard excluding Android 7.1.2 Stock Image.

4GB boards are lemons  Angry

Use Pine Installer. I tested Android stock on eMMC and preferred ayufan Android TV .
I also run LibreELEC devel-20180708142741-4dc93d7 SD Card
Very good results. Whilst not 100% these images are over 90% stable.
Android TV is very stable. Kodi from App Store works. Refresh rate change working as well.
Give it a shot and then retract the lemon quote.
You purchased a Development Board. So you are a tester as well as all others in various forums.

Been a linux admin for 20years. I know what I'm doing with disk imaging,
This POS lives in a drawer now, I bought a "development" board that actually works, an odroid c2.

None of these problems.
I will not buy another pine device.

I also have same problem flashing to eMMC with option 1 - black screen after logo

Option 2 -
>>DD image to eMMC module. Highly recommend using Etcher
Not recognize the unit

Will there be [microsd->eMMC] like android 7.1.2? Thanks a lot
>>Android 7.1.2 Stock Image [microSD to eMMC] [Rooted] [20171204]
Using android 7.1.2 on eMMC with this option now
Has anyone got Bluetooth working on Android 8.1? Just wondering as I haven't been able to get it to work on 7.1, and I gave up on 8 momentarily due to experiencing a whole lot more slowness than in 7.1 (I'm using the 4GB Rock64, SD card).
I can confirm that Android 8.1. Stock Image [eMMC Boot] using ROCKChip tools method [20180606] worked for me. There is preinstalled Google Play Store , which is not in Android 9.x. However, when you go to Google Play Store it tells you:

Quote:This version of the app isn't compatible with your device. To fix this problem, go to Settings and uninstall updates for the Google Play Store app.
Which of course, does not work.

// EDIT: Downloading the latest version of Google Play Store (Android TV)  as .apk worked! Unfortunately, the same does not work on Android 9.x.
