I've a ROCK64 4 GB, but didn't order the WiFi adapter from Pine64 website assuming that I'll use my existing WiFi adapter.
I'm using this build
android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_atv-v0.3.4-r86-update.zip
I tried using the following, but none of them worked:
- Edimax EW-7811UN
- Edimax EW-7811UTC
- Belkins N150
- Netgear A6200
I regret not buying one of the available two WiFi adapters from Pine64. If I have to order now, it will cost another 8 bucks for shipping and about a month for delivery.
Do I need to install some driver to get these working? Or is there a compatible WiFi adapter sold by a US seller?
Please give pid:vid of each of these devices. Please also do `dmesg` from Android when you plug-in the adapter.

How do you do dmesg in android? I am having an issue with the wifi adapter that I purchased from the store.
Also struggling with this, support is useless.
I also did not order the USB WiFi when I bought Rock64.
I have 6 USB WiFi and all of them work fine in RaspberryPi.
I thought I could use one of them. But I was wrong
.
Since shipping cost to Europe is more than the price of USB WiFi itself, I researched Rock64 compatible chips and came up with two names.
1) rtl8188eus (caution: similaly named 8188cus does not work)
This is 2.4 GHz only. Works OoB in Linux installation on Rock64, but not in Android installation.
2) rtl8812au
This is 2.4/5 GHz dual band.
2.4 GHz works OoB in Linux as well as Android installation.
You can make 5 GHz connection work in Linux by compiling driver from the source code (see the other thread in the forum regarding rtl8812au).

So far, I could not find any way to make 5 GHz work in Android.
I am not so sure if there is 5 GHz support in the current commmunity built version of Android.
As far as I know, there still is no bluetooth support in Android.
I've been using a
RTL8188EU wireless adapter from Pine64 which gave out in 3 months so I found a replacement adapter which works.
I've browsed the web for a wifi adapter which uses the Realtek RTL8188EU (S) chipset and I decided on ordering the
Comfast CDF-WU810N. (this is the only link I found that had them in stock at the time)
It works out of the box on my Rock64 4GB running
Armbian Xenial, the only disadvantage is that this adapter does not have an external antenna as the Pine64 one did so the wifi signal will suffer, but maybe it will have a longer life span...
