I've hooked up my 1gb 64 board to my Tv through a three way HDMI adapter and an Android OS card. When it boots I either get an "out of range" error from the TV or I get a huge grey image of an analogue clock. Any ideas?

I'm guessing you've tried connecting the hdmi cable directly without going via the three-way adapter?
As Ghost wrote ^ try without the adapter.
However, out of range usually refers to an unsupported resolution. What resolution is your TV ? also, there could - potentially - be a problem with 60 v 50hz.
Yes, with much the same effect :/

Unfortunately it is a relatively old to without the option for setting video resolutions :/

what is the native resolution of the panel ? is it 60 or 50hz ?
[edit] what I am basically asking is: is it a 1080p 60hz screen?

No, I seem to recall its a 720p 60hz screen....
Ok, I know for a fact that the new TV64 (android) image (http://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=1063) as well as Ubuntu and Debian support 720p (look in linux section). Will check what the flagship android img supports (im not much of an android person) and will get back to you. Which image did you download?

[edit] the new android image also supports 720p you can get it from here: http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Main_Pa...e_20160505

[edit 2] exact brand and model nr of the screen/ tv?

I'm pretty sure that's the file I downloaded, as to my to its a Fujitsu P42HTA51ES
So 2 things.
1) could you please try the TV64 image ?
2) The manufacturer states that the native resolution is 1024x1080 (which I something I haven't seen before) - but claims that the tv supports 720p / 60hz. That said, since the resolution is non-standard I will make an educated guess that there is some internal scaler of some sort which may not play nice with the pine64

I think you're right. The large analogue clock described in the first post in this thread seems like it is the clock from the Android desktop, but vastly scaled up (actual size of clock is supposed to be quite small).
