Excellent work as usual Lenny Cool
Ok so have your latest up an running. Is there any steps that need to be taken to optimize video playback?
you can use the mplayer script located in /usr/local/sbin
for videos

as for Kodi as mentioned before it works in windowed mode (simply hit "\" key) and go to settings>video>acceleration and use software render mode.

It did the trick for me to watch streams in SD or at most 720p

Ty wasnt sure if anything changed and until today I had no way to see video on pine other than over xrdp.

Obviously optimization was not the goal. Instead just another silly workaround (disable acceleration to heat up the CPU) instead of fixing the issue so Kodi makes use of Cedrus HW accelerated video decoding.
Excellent work Lenny.

Hello all

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but I've not seen it after having a quick look through the thread.

I have an issue where my Ethernet is not picking up a DHCP address from my router. I have the Pine64+ 2GB and I'm using the latest software release.

I've tried three different cables, 2x Cat 6 and 1x Cat 5e, two different routers, Netgear and Zyxel, two different SD cards, Sandisk and Samsung.

The order in which I try to get connected is:

Install Image
Resize fs after first boot
Reboot
Plug in ethernet

The IP that is being assigned is 169.192.32.54 which is an invalid address. I've run ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0 but during the up process it says it cannot find a DHCP address to assign. All of the equipment above works on both my Orange PI PC and my Ordroid C2.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

I shall have a look at this when I get home from work. Is there anything I need to set specifically or do I just make one up?
Trying to find the perfect 4k media player - PiDevices.co.uk
you can copy the one listed on your board or perhaps make one up Wink
