Antennas and connectors
#1
I need to know what the antennas are used for, thanks. Also the pins and the connectors.

What I know so far:

A1: WIFI + BT + GPS
A2: Cellular antenna 2
A3: Cellular antenna 1
P1: WIFI or BT or GPS ?
P2: WIFI or BT or GPS ?
P3: WIFI or BT or GPS ?
P4: ?
P5: pin for A2
P6: pin for A2
C1: connector for external A3 ?
C2: connector for A3
C3: connector for external A2 ?

You can use a combination of the schematic and the component top placement docs to check most of this:

Note that there's also conductive printing on the other side of the inner frame, at least on my Brave Heart. Part of this is the WiFi/bluetooth antenna - let's call it A4 in your notation. It runs from the hole without printing below A1going down slightly, then turns 90 degrees towards the edge before going down again, ending just above the level of the reset button hole. Note that I've seen a picture that suggests there may have been revisions to the printed antennas, but it wasn't clear which model it was so it may have been an earlier development iteration.

A1 = GPS antenna
A2 = modem secondary antenna
A3 = modem main antenna
A4 = WiFi/bluetooth antenna
P1 = ANT1501 = ANT_GNSS (modem GPS antenna) - to A1
P2 = ANT1503 = ANT_GNSS ground (modem GPS antenna) - to A1
P3 = ANT1400 = ANT (WiFi/Bluetooth antenna) - to A4
P4 = ANT1504 = ANT_DIV ground (modem secondary antenna) - no printed connection
P5 = ANT1500 = ANT_DIV (modem secondary antenna) - to A2
P6 = ANT1502 = ANT_DIV ground (modem secondary antenna) - to A2
C1 = J1500 = ANT_MAIN (modem main antenna) - not connected - test only?
C2 = J1501 = ANT_MAIN (modem main antenna) - coax lead to board at bottom of phone, to A3
C3 = J1502 = ANT_DIV (modem secondary antenna) - not connected - test only?

thanks, you mean like in this pic ? https://www.pine64.org/wp-content/upload...083317.jpg
here (1.2) the antenna connects all 3 holes !

That pic shows no conductive ink through the 3rd hole so it's not connected to P3. You need to turn the midframe over to see the antenna and contact pads printed on the other side. The antenna layout on my Brave Heart is the same as in the 1st post.

But why would be p1 and p2 connected if they are gps and ground ??? wouldnt that be a short circuit ?

At low frequencies it would be a short circuit. At radio frequencies it depends on the geometry - many commonly used antenna designs look like they should be a short circuit. See for example:

looking better, a1 and a2 has a small antenna on the other side in new frames. I wouldnt give it a new name to those.

I'd like some more confirmations guys!
