ubuntu not shutting down having to unplug pine64 to turn off.

How do i shut down pine64? when i try to click power off it doesnt do anything. Only way I've been able to shut down pine64 is by unplugging psu. I dont think that good to be doing it that way all the time....? thanks in advance

sudo shutdown -h now
