Hardware switch for mic is not working properly

Interesting - some experiment may be needed to see if anything can be made out with normal sound levels, or if there's a threshold effect so only very loud noises can be detected. In retrospect it may have been better for the switch to short MIC1P and MIC1N (pins 7 & 8 on the 40 pin connector) instead of removing the power.
