Armbian/Ubuntu for Rockbox
#1
Rockbox is no longer useful as a TV box because it is too slow so I tried running Armbian.

It does not boot though, even with Rockbox DTB from Recalbox. Any idea, why?

I have not tried the xfce version of Armbian Focal, so I can't help you there. But I have installed the minimal release without a GUI and had no problems. You might have success starting from there and then just install xfce on top.

Also, if you have not tried LibreElec yet, I suggest you try it as a TV media box. It works with the Pine64 IR remote without any configuration, is fast and has lots of extensions available to add features and services. It also supports hardware video acceleration on the Rock64 without needing any extra configuration.

Thanks! Can you please point me to the image you have used? I have no problem using minimal release and then install everything necessary.

I tried this but it does not boot either.

I also tried all the images from this forum https://forum.armbian.com/topic/8082-arm...ox-rk3328/ from this repo https://disk.yandex.com/d/DSO6euzB3ahemo and nothing boots. No output on TV, no LED blinking. I changed the DTB config line to Rockbox.

SD card is OK, it boots Libreelec.

I was successfull installing this build from @Mrfixit2001 , but not the latest version, cause it crashes on installing network-manager.

I replaced the sources.list with Ubuntu 21.04 repo (hirsute) and did full upgrade. It works, so now trying some KDE Plasma and other software.

Wifi works too.
